WordPress For Podcasters Webinar

In this webinar, I'm not only going to tell you why WordPress is the best choice for podcasting, I'm actually going to show you how to setup a WordPress site from scratch.  That's right!  I'm going to take one volunteer from the class who does not yet have their own domain name or hosting account, and I'm going to do the following....

In this webinar, I will share the following....

• How to set up a hosting account with BlueHost.com.  (There are a lot of options you can go with when it comes to hosting, I typically use GoDaddy.com or BlueHost.com because I'm most familiar with them).  In this demonstration, I'll be using BlueHost.

• We'll register the domain to go with the site.

• Once the hosting account is set up, I'll show you how easy it is to install WordPress

• Once Wordpress Is Installed, I will install a standard theme that I use with all my clients and update set it up with a basic design for the podcast in question.

• Once the basic design is set, I'll share with you the Plugins I use for an effective podcast website and I'll show you how I configure them.  (See next few items....)

• I'll activate the Akismet Plugin, explain what it is and why you MUST USE IT!

• I'll install and and activate the "Audio Player" plugin and show you the settings I use when setting up the player and how to adjust the player's color settings to match the design of your site.

• I'll install and activate the WP Database Backup Plugin

• I'll install and activate the KG Eclosure Flex Plugin.  I'll explain the basics of what an "enclsure" is and why it is ESSENTIAL for podcasting.

• I'll set up the proper category structure for Podcasting and Blogging

• I'll set the proper "permalink" structure.  Of course, I'll explain what PermaLinks are and why they are important.

• I'll take the Feed from the WordPress Site and create an iTunes Compatable Feed with Feedburner.com.  Explaining each step in the way.

• I'll actually post a sample episode on the newly created WordPress Site and submit the podcast to iTunes.

• I'll then demonstrated how I train my clients to post new content to their site.
